Every year, Medical Advantage honors team members who embody all eight of our Core Values. Our Core Values speak to who we are as an organization and our culture of supporting one another and our customers. Our values also encourage ownership and excellence. We are pleased to introduce the 2022 Commitment to Core Values winners, Dyana Gebauer and Brandy Smuzeski!
Dyana Gebauer has been with Medical Advantage for 15 years and is manager of customer accounts. She began her career at Medical Advantage specializing in communications, and since then has been an integral part of the organization’s success. Today, she oversees the Account Management Department at iHealthSpot.
Dyana attributes her success to having the best of both worlds professionally. “I’ve been given the chance to do meaningful work in healthcare with really great colleagues. And so that’s made the culture what it is for me in that it has married the two,” she says.
“You know, we’re always growing, so it’s fast-paced and you’ve got to be nimble and agile and adaptable and all of those adjectives,”

Dyana also appreciates the opportunity to, “take appropriate risks and be ourselves and have fun, but there there’s grace built in there where you know if someone falters there there’s no anger and finger pointing. It’s all learning and an opportunity to grow.”
Brandy Smuzeski joined Medical Advantage in 2017 as a senior clinical consultant and today is a clinical manager. Brandy brings a wealth of expertise to her role along with a positive attitude, empathy, and focus on excellence that is highly valued by her colleagues and clients. She has been instrumental in the 2023 launch of Medical Advantage’s ACO.
Brandy credits Medical Advantage’s culture for enabling her to excel in her role. “I definitely appreciate and respect the autonomy that all the employees have. We are given clear expectations and the tools and resources for them to be successful in our role, but we’re also given coaching and guidance,” she says.
“Not one employee succeeds without that entire team succeeding because it’s a group effort,”
Brandy Smuzeski
Brandy’s background also has contributed to her success at Medical Advantage. “I always have that mindset of, and my background is in psychology and social work, you have to have the positive intent and think the best of people.”
